On-line beam monitoring and dose profile measurements of a 208Pb beam of 150 GeV/n with a liquid-filled ionization chamber array

In this study, the possibility of on-line monitoring an ultra-high-energy (UHE) beam 150 GeV/n lead (208Pb) ions using a liquid-filled ionization chamber array (OCTAVIUS 1000SRS, PTW Freiburg, Germany) is evaluated. The applicability has been tested for investigated beam, where adequate adjustments have made measurements under very low fluxes 102 to 104 / cm2/s. results compared obtained standard line detectors, such as scintillator and delay wire (DWC). Since these detectors were situated further upstream from experimental position, with devices may not be representative characteristics at setup due interactions primary particles within subsequent transport between setup. main advantage application its portability so that it can placed directly position capture characteristics. A comparison measured profile independent film demonstrated reliability analysing context, 2D implemented measure only but also total imparting particle fluence UHE by dose considering calibration detector.
